Job Description

We are looking for Steel Building Erectors to join our team, where they will be responsible for setting up site reviewing technical plans, cutting, and shaping steel, using elevated work platforms, construction machinery, and scissor lifts. Additionally, you may be tasked with other duties as needed.

 

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines and following directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, adhere to EPA, OSHA, and local requirements regarding safety and handling hazardous materials. To do well in this role you should be physically fit, punctual, reliable, and be a hard worker in various weather conditions.

Job Duties

  • Reviewing technical plans drawn by architects and engineers

  • Planning project assembly

  • Cutting and shaping steel

  • Installing and fixing together steel girders, pipework and beam sections to make a steel framework

  • Using elevated work platforms and scissor lifts

  • Working on-site, often at height.

  • Laying metal decking

  • Lifting and guiding components into position with tower cranes

  • Lining up and levelling steelwork before bolting it in place

  • Follow instructions from supervisors

  • Light Traveling for site work

  • Willingness to operate equipment in a safe manner or under direct supervision

  • Use variety of hand tools to complete necessary work

  • Execute and complete detail-oriented tasks under pressure

  • Minimum 40 hrs/week

Required Qualifications

  • 18+ years of age - No Exceptions

  • Driver’s license or transportation to/from work

  • Ability to perform strenuous tasks with your hands

  • Ability to kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials

  • Ability to measure accurately and read specifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 Certification

  • OSHA 30 Certification

  • Forklift Operator Training

  • Commercial driver’s license
